Leagues & sections
Thirteen leagues across six days and six sheets. Enter as a full team, as a couple, or as a single curler — conveners place individuals on teams every season. Every league welcomes spares.
2-on-2 Stick League Monday · 9:00, 10:00 & 11:00 am
Each team is two players, regardless of gender. One member of each team stays at each end of the rink and must not cross centre ice, except when a time out is called. The two delivering curlers alternately deliver six stones each per end while their teammates skip that end, then the roles are reversed.
All games are six ends and can be played within one hour. Each stone must be delivered with a delivery stick, and the only sweeping allowed is from the hog line in at the away end. The first three stones delivered in any end may not be removed from play before delivery of the fourth stone of that end.

Day Women Monday afternoon · Thursday 9:30 am & 12:15 pm
The Day Women’s Section curls Monday afternoon and Thursday morning. When there are more than twelve teams on Thursday, some games are scheduled after lunch.
It is open to all women who are members of the club. This league gives women an opportunity to curl in a relaxed, non-competitive atmosphere, giving new members a chance to interact and socialise with other curlers.
Thursday curling is followed by lunch, provided by members on a rotating basis; there is a small fee collected for lunch. We are always happy to have new members — new and experienced curlers are most welcome.

Eleanor Baldry — Monday Women’s Champion · Barb Fairbairn — Thursday Women’s Champion · Gladys Harris — Day Women’s Champion
Monday Men Monday · 7:00 pm
This league consists of three schedules of seven games each. At the end of seven games, new teams are drawn from a pool of players. The levels of skill range from beginner to experienced and all curlers are welcome to participate in one, two or all three schedules.
At the end of the year the three teams that have won their respective schedules, along with a wild card team, curl in a two-game playoff to determine a men’s champion. Points for each curler are recorded, and at year end these are tallied and an All-Star team of a lead, second, third and skip is announced at the year-end Men’s Banquet.

Women’s Skips Entry Tuesday · 1:15 pm
Traditionally held on Tuesday afternoons. Any fully paid member of the Lindsay Curling Club belonging to any schedule may enter a team or join one.
In September, skips enter a team for the event on registration night. A member who wishes to enter as a rover may also sign up, and is encouraged to do so — spares are needed throughout the year. Each team plays together for the full schedule, which runs from October to March. Games are scored on a win–loss basis.
The winner of the Kawartha Sod Trophy is the team with the highest point total at the end of the schedule in March; a tie is settled by a single playoff game. The winning team is eligible for the Dominion Club Championship the following October, playing off against the highest-ranking women’s team from Thursday Skips Entry to determine the Women’s Club Champion.

Tuesday Evening Women Tuesday · 6:45 pm
Our goal is the best balance of fun, competition and skill development. Members join on an individual basis and are assigned a playing position — lead, second, vice or skip — based on skill level and indicated preference. Some repositioning may be necessary to complete teams for each draw.
Teams are shuffled for three sponsored draws per season, so everyone gets the chance to play with new teammates. There are end-of-season playoffs between the winners of each draw, plus an All-Star team of the players who accumulated the most points at each position. The season finishes on Club Championship night.
The league hosts a bonspiel every March that is open to outside clubs, a Christmas curling evening, and an end-of-year fun-spiel. If you cannot commit to every Tuesday, sign up as a spare.

Major League Competitive Wednesday · 7:30 pm
The Inter-Club is a team entry league open to all active members of local curling clubs, sponsored for many years by Lindsay Dry Cleaners.
The league typically starts mid-October and concludes mid-to-late February, and is restricted to twelve teams on a first-come, first-served basis. Entry fees are by team, with prize monies distributed following a round robin and playoff format.
Teams can be all male, all female, or mixed in any combination. This is a skip’s entry competitive league, generally appealing to teams wanting to sharpen up for their own league play and other competitions.

Thursday Skips Entry Thursday · 6:45 pm & 9:00 pm
Open to any member of the club, with game times alternating between the 6:45 pm and 9:00 pm draws. It is a team entry league and teams can be all male, all female or mixed.
Teams that tend to enjoy this league include curlers who simply want to play with friends or family; younger bantam and junior-aged teams gaining the experience to take their game to the next level; and teams competing in play-downs who want open league play as preparation.
Round robin format, using the ladder system to determine winners of four separate events: A, B, C and D.

Curl & Dine Friday · 2:30 pm & 4:15 pm
Curl and Dine is mixed curling on Friday afternoons and evenings, featuring a six-end game followed by ordered-in food for the early draw and a sit-down meal for the later draw.
It suits players of all skill levels, with the focus firmly on the social side of mixed curling. We play three schedules through the season and teams change each schedule to keep the evening fun and light-hearted.

Social Mixed Curling Friday · 7:00 pm & 8:30 pm
We invite new and experienced curlers to start the weekend off right and join us for a night of fun in this non-competitive league. All are welcome. Curlers can enter as a team, as a couple, or as a single curler.
Teams rotate through the two draws from week to week, and there are two schedules per season. Two mini-spiels are held through the season, typically on the last night of each schedule.

Seniors Tue & Fri 9:30 am · Wed & Thu 1:30 pm
You do not have to be a “stick curler”, and you do not have to be retired. There are two overlapping activities available to our senior curlers, aged 50 or more.
In-house games
For men and women of any skill level. Tuesday morning, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, and Friday morning, teams are drawn up fifteen minutes before game time from everyone present — with no ongoing commitment to a single team or schedule.
Kawartha Senior Men’s Curling League
Ten clubs, as near as Omemee and as far away as Campbellford. Each club hosts a bonspiel — two games with dinner — inviting teams from all the other clubs, and hosts three teams from each of the other clubs in turn for a set of “friendly” matches. Skips choose their own teams from among the seniors, and a list of rovers is kept. There is a trophy for the top scoring club in the friendlies.

Little Rock & Juniors Sunday · 9:30 am & 11:00 am
Our focus is on fun, friendship, etiquette and safety while teaching curling skills that will last a lifetime. This season’s coach is Mike Smith.
Little Rocks — Sunday 9:30 to 10:30 am
For young children who have never curled before or have limited experience. Each week curlers learn new skills at their own pace: rock delivery, sweeping, rules and even etiquette. Little Rockers are introduced to curling using youth-sized rocks and soon advance to regulation rocks — all Little Rock bonspiels use full-size rocks. Youth get more personalised attention in this session, as high school youth help coach.
Juniors — Sunday 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
For those with one year of experience who can deliver a stone the length of the ice most of the time. The focus is on delivery skills (weight control, hitting the target), sweeping (judging weight, communication), positions and team interaction — everyone gets a chance to play each position — and strategy. Each session is skill development followed by a four- or six-end game.
Experienced youth with a consistent delivery are encouraged to sign up as spares for the adult evening leagues: Monday Men, Tuesday Evening Women and Friday Social Mixed. These leagues always need spares and it is a chance to practise more. Do not worry about age.

Special Olympics Hardrockers Monday · 3:45 pm to 5:00 pm
Join our Special Olympics Hardrockers curling team. We meet on Mondays at 3:45 pm and play until 5:00 pm. We invite all special needs athletes who are ice capable. All you need is a willingness to learn, some warm clothes and a clean pair of shoes.
Specially trained coaches will teach you the sport of curling, and we finish off with a game and always have an enormous amount of fun.
Our curlers have all levels of capability and have done extremely well in competition — we have been to Provincials and Nationals and brought home silver and gold. We also have fun ’spiels, where everyone is a winner. The cost is minimal and it is a great way to put in the winter.
